White Elephant Gift

One of the best things about a gift exchange is the White Elephant version. This gift is so awesome because it takes all the pressure off of finding the “perfect” gift! It is such a struggle to buy presents for some people (aka males), but a white elephant gift works quite well in this case.

The elephant on the front of the card was created with my new Jane Davenport fountain pen, which I absolutely adore. 10/10 recommend. (Nope, not sponsored! Just my own opinion.) Can’t say this cute elephant was my idea (although I wish it were)! I free-handed it from this illustration.

As for the gift itself, well that is a surprise! Here’s a hint: sumo + pool toy + antacid + other random goods.

I can’t wait to see what everyone else brings!

Merry Christmas!

This Christmas I’ve been loving greenery. I love imagining freshly fallen snow on evergreen trees. I love how spry green is. I love how it can instantly give life to a front door, or a mantle. Even a tiny sprig of a fir tree tied to a smartly wrapped present is so satisfying.

Illustration inspired by Lark & Linen‘s picture.

Brown (Cardboard) Packages

I’m sure you’re aware of the crazy busy-ness of the holiday season…especially at the post office! I think this year I’ve visited the post office more times than in the past five years combined.

I’ve had so much fun packaging and shipping each order from my Etsy shop. Nice packaging is something I am in love with. It’s so fun that I can make each package a bit charming with some tissue paper, string, and a note, or a token of appreciation (aka “freebie”). I hope all of you who’ve received packages from me like it just as much as I do!

The order that’s going out tomorrow is custom greeting cards! It was my first time creating cards for someone else; I love the input customers give me on what they like about the illustration, or what they’d like to change. It’s a learning experience for me.

If you’re looking for unique watercolor stationery, invitations, illustrations, etc., I’d be more than happy to work with you! Contact me below with your request!

It’s (finally) December!

Ahhhh. Don’t you love it? The cheery holiday songs, crisp air, cold weather, and people hustling about tell me it’s Christmas.

This design was a potential Christmas card design, but it didn’t make the cut! I still like the concept, though! Especially the truck with the tree in the back. What is so cute about that anyway? (Or is it just me?)

Happy December!

Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!

Today is the day! After many weeks of preparing and planning, Christmas has arrived. It seems easy for one to get so involved in the festivities of the season, but the real meaning of Christmas isn’t in giving/receiving gifts, celebrations, or in the hubbub of the holidays. It’s such a blessed time of year; it seems each heart is warmed just a little to enjoy each other and commemorate Jesus’ birth.

Thank you to all of my readers who  visit this tiny space on the internet; I know it wouldn’t be much without you!

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and blessings throughout the New Year,

Matching Pajamas – Greeting Card No. 16

Matching Pajamas.jpg

A family with matching pajamas! It looks quite cozy! Pajamas are such a joy to wear, especially if they are decent looking and not old rags. (I do like old, worn out clothes sometimes, too!)

At Target this season, I saw the cutest, vintage-type pajamas, but I couldn’t bring myself to buy them. I’m such a cheap-skate sometime; it’s really too bad.

Here it is 🙂 Aren’t they lovely? It totally reminds me of the fifties and sixties!

Merry Christmas to all!

Calm & Bright – Greeting Card No.15

Calm & Bright.jpg

Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child
Holy Infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace

Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ, the Saviour is born
Christ, the Saviour is born

Silent night, holy night
Son of God, love’s pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth
