Blush Christmas – Greeting Card No. 13

Blush Christmas.jpg

I love all of the fancy holiday outfits that arise this time of year! I often think of how impractical some fashion styles are, like these really pouffy sleeves. I would never even think of buying something like that. I could never pull it off. But they are fun to look at!

On a different note, doesn’t the hair on this lady look so nice and lustrous? And the eyes and red lips are just so…pretty I suppose 🙂

One thought I had while looking at other artists’ Instagrams, websites, etc. is how they have such a consistent style. I always wonder how they achieve that. Does it come naturally, or do they really have to strive to maintain the uniform look? If you look at other posts I have, even within the last couple of months, they have so much variety.

I remember my 8th grade art teacher telling me that if someone thinks your art is done by multiple artists, then that is a bad thing.

The thing with me is I get bored with a certain “look.” Sometimes I use a lot of brushwork and very little pencil, or just the opposite. My color scheme always varies. Even the faces I draw are so diverse style-wise.

Any advice, folks?

Until then, I think I’m going to create stuff that I like and that I find enjoyable!

Sugar and Spice – Greeting Card No. 12

Cookies are in abundance at this time of year. There are so many recipes I want to try but I seem to never get around to it. Last year, I found one recipe that I absolutely love. You can find that with this link. They are amazingly soft. And the flavor is delicious, if you love eggnog (which I obviously do).

My top five favorite Christmas cookies are:

1.) Peanut Butter Blossoms

2.) Sugar Cookies

3.) Eggnog Melt-In-Your-Mouth Cookies

4.) Shortbread Cookies

5.) Molasses Cookies

Let me know of your favorites!

Christmas Potpourri – Greeting Card No. 9

Festive Mix copy.jpg
One of the best parts of Christmas is the smells. I love when you walk into the house and someone is burning a candle or cooking something delicious! Smell is also connected to our memory more than any other sense, so that is why certain aromas bring back the best memories 🙂

As you well know, Pinterest is a great way to look for ideas of any kind. This morning, while looking for ideas, I saw a recipe for potpourri. Inspiration! Cranberries, oranges, cinnamon, and rosemary combined is pretty much the smell of Christmas. I love it!

Side note: I really must be bad with this schedule-posting stuff, because this is my second time skipping a day. Whoops! To make up for it, I will post two greeting card designs today 🙂

Christmas Shoes – Greeting Card No. 7

christmas-shoes

Hello there!

Since so many of us seem to be gearing up to go to Christmas parties and other fancy events, I thought it would be appropriate to paint a killer pair of shoes. Now, you know my opinion on heels, but they do make for an interesting subject.

It seems many of my posts contain some shade of red, especially around this time of year, and I wonder why I love the color so much. Maybe because it can convey such a powerful feeling. Red = passion, you know 🙂

Personally, I don’t wear much of it other than my red satchel from Forever 21. It is such a bold color and can make one instantly recognizable, not something I strive for. My style picks of late seem to be some shade of grey. Boring, I know. I’m kind of wondering where my quirky style went. I miss it.

Anyway, I thought I’d make another list of clothing pieces I love, like the Winter Weather post I did.

Here goes 🙂
